250 consumed!

Oak hall relaxation

Pancake day was fun - we had a pancake race! Really amusing entertainment for the observers - and a bridge building competition. There were more than 250 homemade pancakes consumed! A mammoth effort both in eating and producing. About 50 people turned up for the event which was used as an opportunity to make friends, tell them that on Sunday we celebrate the fact we don't have to do any fasting to get into a relationship with God and invite them to our palm Sunday service and our weekend away trip.

We make a bigger thing of palm Sunday than Easter since many families are away over the extended bank holiday period. For weekend away were going back to Oak Hall again - we love the surroundings and the great service they give us there. This year we have asked Horvath Levente to come and share some of his insights, the Bouma family will still be joining us, but Henk will not be giving the talk on this occasion. There will as always be the walk in the countryside, swimming, and games and lots of fellowship too.

How long do cafe's last?
Café Forever has undergone a ministry review in October last year - the
mission has a 5 year goal that has shifted somewhat in that it is trying to encourage the church into mission - something that I believe missions should do - of course City of Peace church, and many of the other local churches on the Isle of Dogs have always been very mission minded and we're hoping that the purpose and outlook of Café Forever still fits within the mandate of the LCM.
